Journalist's book tour comes to Kent
Laura Lebo reported on controversy about intelligent design

As a part of an investigative reporting team, Lauri Lebo helped solve two civil rights-era murders. At 4 p.m. today, Lebo will visit Kent State to promote her new book "The Devil in Dover" on the 10th floor of the University Library.
The library will hold a presentation and discussion where Lebo will share her experience reporting on a controversial case of intelligent design taught to a ninth grade class in Dover, Pa. As the York Daily Record's education reporter, she covered the intelligent design trial from its earliest beginnings at local school board meetings.
"I think it will be of interest to people who feel religion and science should be kept separately," said Mark Weber, dean of Library and Media Services. He suggested journalism students attend the presentation.
In December 2004, a group of parents sued the Dover school board after it made the decision to teach intelligent design to ninth-grade biology classes.
Lebo was a Pennsylvania journalist for 20 years and has won numerous state and national awards with her writing. "The Devil in Dover" is Lebo's first book and was published by Studs and Ida Terkel Author Fund. The book is available in most bookstores and on Amazon.com.
