Kent Anti-Racist Action, PRIDE! Kent, Women's Liberation Collective, Bash Back! and Kent Roosevelt High School Gay Straight Alliance are holding a conference against homophobia from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday in rooms 315 and 316 of the Student Center.

These organizations will hold workshops and discussions focusing on a wide variety of topics, including issues for youth coming out and the mainstream gay rights movement.

In one session, students can anonymously ask an LGBT-identified person questions about his or her sexuality.

Andrew Ruminas, who helped organize the event, said he hopes both LGBT and straight students will take advantage of the opportunity to see varied points of view and provoke discussion within the community.

Day care will be provided so students with children can also participate.
