In yesterday's Daily Kent Stater, it was reported in a profile about Professor Laura Davis that students were daring the guardsmen to fire again after the shootings on May 4, 1970. Davis did not say this. Davis said there was a quiet atmosphere after the shootings with occasional shouting in the direction of guardsmen who were across the Commons near the ROTC building site.

Davis said she and others made a plan while sitting on the hill near Stopher Hall to scatter after they followed Glenn Frank across the Commons toward the tennis courts, out of the area and away from the Guard. After following Glenn Frank, Davis said they ran in different directions away from the Commons, so if the Guard started shooting again, it would not hit all of the students and "someone would live to tell the story of what really happened that day."

The error occurred in the reporting process.
