Sheriff talks about apparent drowning

Police and rescue crews are searching for the body of an 18-year-old male from Akron after two friends watched as he apparently drowned in the lake at West Branch State Park. The friends were swimming in an undesignated area at the park. Rescue crews received a call around 1:30 pm Friday afternoon.

Officials won't release the names of the teenagers involved until their families have been notified. KentNewsNet spoke with Portage County Sheriff David Doak who explains what happened when the swimming adventure turned bad.
