Fashion night to benefit Hiram farm

The CAbi clothing line is hosting a fashion night at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church in Kent, and part of the proceeds will go toward the Hiram Farm Living and Learning Community.
Women can see some of the clothing line's latest fashion and purchase items at the party. The CAbi clothing line name stands for "Carol Anderson by invitation."
The Hiram Farm is in its first stages of operation. It opens May 1 and will be a place where adults with autism can spend their days in a safe, fun and productive environment.
Beth Snyder, vice president of the Hiram Farm Committee, said Anderson used to have a clothing line in department stores but decided to change her clothing line to catalog shopping and parties so women can have a better shopping experience.
"It is all meant to be a wonderful experience between women - fun, friends and fashion," Snyder said.
The farm was hoping to raise $50,000 to begin operation, but it has only raised $26,000 thus far.
The Hiram Farm is not the only organization to receive money from CAbi. One of CAbi's missions is to help community and international non-profit organizations. Since 2005, CAbi has donated 700,000 items of clothing to organizations dedicated to improving the lives of those in need all over the world.
