The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is hosting a supply drive to gather needed school supplies for first through fifth graders at West Main Elementary School in Ravenna.

The school supplies donated will be given to a tutoring program sponsored by the Salvation Army. Because of budget cuts, the program is running short of supplies, so NSCS is helping collect supplies.

"The NSCS is a honor society that provides growth opportunity, leadership training grounds and resources to connect members with community service events," NSCS officer Misti Parsley said.

Parsley said the kids need items including pencils, paper, erasers, glue sticks, tissues and individual snack items, such as juice boxes, crackers and fruit snacks.

People can drop off donated supplies at 9 p.m. Monday in room 310C of the Student Center.

If one is unable to stop by the member meeting office Monday, contact Misti Parsley at mparsley@kent.edu or Micah Shornack at mshornac@kent.edu to schedule a time to drop off items.
