Check your water

Kent residents might experience discolored water coming from their taps tomorrow due to the city's flushing of fire hydrants.

The discoloration, the city said in a news release, does not mean the water is unsafe. It might, however, stain laundry.

Before washing clothes, the city recommends running water from the tap for three to five minutes and filling a glass to check the water's clarity. If the water is clear, clothes can be washed.

The hydrant flushing will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow in the southwest and northwest sections of the city.
