Halim El-Dabh to host drum workshop

World renowned music composer Halim El-Dabh will teach a drum workshop from 3-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the North Water Street Gallery. The class will hold 20 students, and the cost to attend is $20 for one or both classes.
El-Dabh will teach African drum history and different drum techniques through a combination of Arabic and African sound.
"Drums have been a great inspiration," he said. "It's an exterior practice of rhythm and an interior release of your own self."
