Blink-182 announced Feb. 22, 2005, they would no longer being making music together. Almost four years to the day, Feb. 8, Blink-182 announced the end of its "indefinite hiatus" at the Grammy Awards.

Blink-182 is made up of members Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker. Barker joined the party in 1998 when the band's previous drummer, Scott Raynor, left the band. From there, the band took off. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, the band had four records go platinum after the addition of Barker, three of which featured Barker.

When the group stopped working together in 2005, each member started working heavily on side projects. DeLonge was involved in the band Angels and Airwaves, while Hoppus and Barker formed the band +44. Barker also collaborated with DJ AM and various other hip-hop acts.

Now, after a four-year wait, Blink-182 has decided to play together once again. The guys are recording a new album, and they are planning a summer 2009 tour.

An update on the band's Web site really says it best:

"Hi. We're Blink-182. This past week there've been a lot of questions about the current status of the band, and we wanted you to hear it straight from us. To put it simply, We're back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. Seventeen years deep in our legacy. Summer 2009. Thanks and get ready..."
