Issue date: 2/9/09 Section: Opinion
A celebration of her life is planned for 3 p.m. Friday on campus, location to be announced. Family and friends ask that memorial attendants sign a petition to urge the university to cover the family members of Kent State employees who have autism.
"As I've moved through this week of tragedy and grief, the thought that I had more than anything is I consider myself fortunate that I was able to be Trudy's friend. That's something that I'll never lose."
-Molly Merryman, associate professor of justice studies at Trumbull Campus

Why no photo of Ms. Steuernagel? I'm a Kent alum and would like to know if I recognize her face. I even went on Google images and couldn't find her. I would think the Stater would have a photo of her; I'm sure I'm not the only alum wondering if we knew her. (Continued…)
