Freshman Spanish and French major Katie Yackley, H2O Church member Emily Davis and freshman architecture major Alena Miller, have been baking for the residents of Stopher and Johnson hall since nearly the beginning of the semester.

The trio said they began baking to help the students in the dorms form a more connected community.

At first, they baked a variety of sweets, but now they specialize in brownies, Yackley said.

Using the kitchen in Stopher hall, the three usually bake two or three batches of brownies before walking through the adjacent residence halls looking for hungry students.

The baked goods are there for anyone who wants them and the girls said they love seeing new people. Sometimes quite a crowd gathers to wait for the oven's timer and the fresh-baked treats that are sure to follow its chime.
