Central Washington University named James Gaudino, dean of the College of Communication and Information, its new president today.
Officials from CWU, which is located in Ellensburg, Wash., visited Kent State last week to meet with Gaudino's co-workers and students. Gaudino spent a week in Washington in early November for interviews.
"I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve Central Washington University, and I am honored to join such a strong team of faculty, administrators, staff and students," Gaudino said in a CWU press release. "I look forward to becoming a member of the Ellensburg and central Washington communities. The strong foundation that exists at Central offers all of us an exciting opportunity to propel a premier regional university to national prominence. I can hardly wait to get started."
Gaudino came to Kent State in 2003, a year after the creation of CCI.
