City parking ban in effect until 6 p.m. tomorrow

Parking on all city streets is banned until 6 p.m. tomorrow to allow for snow and ice removal, according to a press release from the Kent Department of Public Service.
The snow emergency parking ban began today at 1 p.m. A snow emergency exists when two or more inches of snow accumulates in a 24-hour period.
A lake effect snow warning is in effect until 4 a.m. tomorrow, and two to four inches of accumulation is expected tonight, according to the National Weather Service.
