Lt. Col. Dale Holland will speak at 3:30 p.m. today in Room 306 of the Student Center as a part of Kent State's Veteran Recognition Event.

Holland is the deputy director of operations for the White House Military Office and a Kent State alumnus who was commissioned from Kent State Air Force ROTC.

The theme of this year's event is "Celebrating Our Hometown Heroes."

Kent State's veteran commemoration is planned in part by the Army and Air Force ROTC to recognize students, faculty and community members who are veterans or contracted in the U.S. military.
