John McCain, with wife Cindy by his side, appeared before a disappointed crowd of supporters in Arizona earlier tonight, conceding the election to his Democratic opponent, Barack Obama.

McCain, who was joined on stage by his running mate Sarah Palin and her husband Todd, said he wished his former opponent goodwill in his coming term as president.

He urged his supporters to back their newly elected president, despite this year's divisive election.

at least his closing speech was honorable and gracious; what else could they have asked for? great leader, but the people have spoken!!
