The Portage County Democratic Party wants to tell college students "yes we van."

The party, in cooperation with College Democrats and the Ohio for Change Campaign, will begin driving students to the Ravenna County Board of Elections for early voting today.

College Democrats president Jared M. Matthews said the collaboration makes sense because they are all working toward the same goal.

"All three organizations are mobilizing an effort to elect Barack Obama and Joe Biden the next president and vice president of the United States," he said.

Sandy Halem, second vice chair for the Portage County Democratic Party, said there will be at least two trips from noon to 2 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. More trips will be available as students call to schedule rides.

Halem said interested students must contact Vineeth Hemavathi, the Kent State representative for the Ohio for Change Campaign, at 706-313-4124 to schedule a ride and a pick-up location.
