The Speedbumps were working hard on finishing their new album, "Apple Tree," when lead singer Erik Urycki and roommate Emma Sherrie were held at gunpoint in a robbery early last week.

A group of four men stole thousands of dollars worth of valuables, including Urycki's guitars.

Band manager Micah Manus said the band members are just thankful everyone is safe.

"It's really just making us all appreciate the music," Manus said. "Appreciate life."

The Speedbumps are trying to move on from the incident, putting it in the past and focusing on the new album.

"We're moving forward," Manus said. "Doing our best to get everything ready."

"Apple Tree" is the band's second full-length album; However, it is the first full-length album with all current band members.

The band continues to play shows, and its CD release party will be at 8 p.m. on October 24th at the Kent Stage.
