McElroy takes over as Director of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action

The university announced yesterday that James McElroy will be the new director of the Office of Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action effective Oct. 1.
McElroy will replace Willie Boston, who died during the summer.
In his new position, McElroy will oversee the office, which works to ensure equal access to employment and educational opportunities, according to its mission statement.
Currently, McElroy works as a managing partner at No Trial Ltd. Among his duties, he provides consulting services to corporate clients dealing with matters with state and federal agencies.
While working at The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, he represented the company in all employment discrimination charges filed with state and federal agencies.
McElroy holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Akron.
