A one-year contract extension offered by the university would give faculty a 3 percent raise and domestic partner benefits.

The Kent State chapter of the American Association of University Professors hasn't decided on the matter yet. The union presented the extension to its council Friday, which is sharing the proposal to faculty members today. The offer would extend the current contract for one year starting Aug. 23.
