Men's basketball season ends with loss to UNLV

The Kent State men's basketball team's season ended today in Omaha, as it fell to UNLV 71-58 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Flashes started slow, scoring only 10 points in the first half, tying the fewest first half points ever in a NCAA Tournament game. The Flashes also turned the ball over 20 times in the game.
In the second half the Flashes outscored UNLV 48-40, but the Flashes could never bounce back from their slow start.
In his final game with the Flashes, senior forward Mike Scott recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The other senior, forward Haminn Quaintance scored 12 points and 9 nine rebounds. Sophomore guard Chris Singletary added 12 points before fouling out.
For UNLV, junior forward Joe Darger led all players with 18 points, including 4-8 from 3-point range. Junior guard Wink Adams scored 17, and junior guard Rene Rougeau scored 12 while pulling down 10 rebounds.
The Flashes finish the season 28-7, the second-most regular season wins in school history.
