The movie 300 will play three times tonight and only cost students $3.

It will show at 7, 9 and 11 p.m. in the Kiva. The event is a fundraiser for Kent Interhall Council, and the money will help fund a trip to the National Association of College and University Residence Halls conference in Oklahoma, said Kevin Gareau, KIC national communications coordinator.

"I've never seen it but it's gotten great reviews, and everyone I've talked to said it's very good," said Gareau, who is also the safety reporter for the Daily Kent Stater.

In the movie, 300 Spartans go to war against an army of 250,000 Persians.

"My advice is to prepare your eyes for popping - hell, they just might fly out of their sockets - in the face of such turbocharged visuals," said Peter Travers, in his Rolling Stone review of the movie.

Students who dress as a Spartan or related character can get into the movie for $1.
