Kent State's programming for World AIDS Day 2007 begins today with an information table from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second floor of the Student Center.

University Health Services will provide informational material on HIV/AIDS, other sexually transmitted infections and abstinence and safe sex. AIDS awareness kits containing condoms and information on reducing the risk of transmitting HIV/AIDS and STIs will be available.

In addition to the information table, University Health Services is currently collecting nonperishable food items and toiletries in coordination with Violet's Cupboard, an Akron-based non-profit organization that provides assistance to those living with HIV/AIDS. A collection box is set up in the main lobby at DeWeese Health Center.

The information table will also be set up tomorrow and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check tomorrow's Stater for more information on tomorrow's AIDS Awareness Day events.
