Tonight, members of PRIDE!Kent will attend a benefit show for a transgender student at the University of Akron.

The benefit will take place at Roseto Club in Akron. Colleen Eltibi, president of PRIDE!Kent, said it is for friends and members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

Eltibi said throughout the year, the organization plans to continue to reach out to the community.

"We're going to try to get back into community service," she said.

There is a $5 cover charge at the door and the benefit begins at 7 p.m.

Eltibi said all of the money will go directly to the student's top surgery, which is scheduled for October.
