By the end of this month, Provost Robert Frank will appoint interim deans for the Honors College and the College of Education, Health and Human Services.
The search for an Honors College dean to replace retiring dean Larry Andrews failed after several candidates visited the campus this spring.
"The candidates were not just right," President Lester Lefton said.
David England, former dean of the College of Education, Health and Human Services, stepped down to take the position of provost at another university.
Frank said the chosen interim deans will fill the position for about a year, and former Provost Paul Gaston left him with a list of recommendations.
Lefton said he will also offer Frank advice about the decision.
