Kent State teaches its students early on that communication is key to having a success career. All professions require key basics when it comes to working with clients and co-workers in the work force.

The School of Communication is holding its seventh annual Communication Expo and first annual Career Fair today. The event recognizes past students who are succeeding in their chosen fields and current Kent State seniors.

Alumni will speak about the importance of good communication skills and how coursework at Kent State helped prepare them for their current positions.

"Alumni come and talk about how to get their first promotion, how to communicate on the job and how coursework helped them prepare for their job," assistant professor Rozell Duncan said.

Current seniors will have the opportunity to speak with students about how to succeed in the major and will display their portfolios. Speakers from the Cleveland Clinic, Pneumatic Scale and Wyse Advertising will be present.

The Communication Expo begins at 9 a.m. in Room 306 of the Student Center and runs until 2:30 p.m., with the Career Fair beginning at 12:30.
