The Fashion Student Organization is holding a knitting workshop April 17 in Rockwell Hall.

The complimentary class, which is open to any interested participants, starts at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in Room 116 of Rockwell Hall. No registration is required. Guests are asked to bring their own knitting needles.

Catherine Leslie, assistant professor in the School of Fashion Design, will be teaching the class.

People of all experience levels are welcome, as the workshop will range from beginner to experienced knitting skills.

Alacia Pollard, the Fashion Student Orangization public relations officer, said the organization has held this event in the past and had a lot of success with it.

Attendees will learn to knit and meet new people at the event, Pollard said. They will also get a sense of accomplishment from the items they make, she said.

"It's kind of neat to be able to make your own scarves and sweaters instead of going out and buying them," Pollard said.
