A College Fest block party on East College Avenue broke down into a clash between police and rioters Saturday night, resulting in about 60 arrests. New USG members have first meeting

The first meeting for the new members of Undergraduate Student Government got off to a slow start last night, with 11 of 25 members absent. Although the meeting was the last scheduled for the year, Executive Director Scott Sherwood announced that because of the low turnout, USG would have to hold another meeting to vote on issues in the agenda. 84 KSU teams to take part in cancer walk

Eighty-four teams will take part in the eighth annual Relay for Life at Kent State this weekend. Relay for Life, located at the Liquid Crystal Institute and Small Group Track, will begin tomorrow morning with registration at 9 a.m. and opening ceremonies at 10 a. (0) comments

Holly Logan and Rachael Fox, senior dance performance majors, have been dancing at Kent State for four years but first hit the floor long before that. Children ran around the practice room in Oscar Ritchie Hall and were picked up by various members of the choir as they greeted one another. The Kent police force will beef up its staff on the weekends, starting today, in anticipation of end-of-semester partying. This weekend marks the annual College Fest, the block party on College Avenue. Last year, according to police reports, there were 39 arrests that weekend, which Lt. Jayme Cole of the Kent Police Department said is higher than a typical weekend in Kent. (3) comments

After four years without an official recognition, the Phi Delta Theta fraternity is regaining its status as a chapter. The fraternity had its charter taken away in 2004 because "some of the guys weren't acting Phi Del. material" said Zac Sarcyk, Phi Delta Theta president. (0) comments
