Thursday will be the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. A child born on Sept. 11, 2001, has literally lived his or her entire life in a country at war - first with the Taliban and al-Qaida, and later with the Republic of Iraq, and, still later, with insurgents in Afghanistan and Iraq. We all know Kent State runs like a business. Public or not, students pay steep tuition bills to attend so the university can stay afloat, regardless of how much (or little) state funding the university receives or how much private fundraising it does. Students are the consumers. (0) comments
In case you haven't noticed, Sen. Barack Obama doesn't fit the profile of men who've run for president lately. First of all, Obama is a black man, and black men, for some reason, haven't turned up on the presidential ballot often in the past 200 years. (9) comments
