Kent State students to get new ID numbers

Kent State is implementing a new student identification number and database system to help keep students safe from identity theft. In October, the university will issue each student a new identification number, called a banner ID, to stop the use of social security numbers to identify students. (0) comments

Residence hall bathrooms renovated for fall semester

Students moving into residence halls this fall will see a few changes. Many of the buildings will have newly renovated bathrooms, including Korb, Fletcher, Clark and Olson halls. A renovation at Susan's Coffee and Tea started in May when a patron overshot a parking spot and ran his car into the side of the building. Susan's vice president Milana Estrada had the damage repaired, but she then noticed other areas of the building that needed attention. (0) comments

For the fourth time since 2004, a search for a dean for the College of Arts and Sciences is underway. The College of Arts and Sciences is Kent State's largest college, and it includes a range of departments, from chemistry and anthropology to philosophy and geography. (1) comment

During the upcoming school year, about 375 Kent State students will get a taste of the world. From Switzerland to Great Britain, Kent State students will land abroad to study a variety of subjects and take part in a multitude of life-changing experiences.
